Professional Dog Training

Our Training Methodology

Teaching your dog to obey you is no easy task. From simple commands to advanced training, sometimes it’s best to seek professional help to get the results you want. In our classes, your dog will learn to socialize with other people and dogs while developing excellent obedience skills on and off a leash.

You can enroll your new puppy in obedience classes to develop good manners from the beginning. With an early start, your puppy will fly through lessons and become a mindful, obedient dog.

After beginner courses, transition them into intermediate and advanced classes. Here, you can master the basic commands (like “sit,” “stay,” “drop,” etc.) and then work on advanced commands and off-leash training. By attending our dog training courses with your four-legged friend, your dog will be housebroken, well-mannered, and ready to play catch in no time.

Tom MacDougall

Tom has been breeding, raising, and training German Shepherd dogs for over 35 years. He has titled dogs in several different disciplines. He has a love for all dogs and especially enjoys the working breeds. Tom has trained dogs in advanced obedience, protection work, and tracking. He loves the special bond between a dog and its trainer. Tom specializes in behavior modification, working with the most difficult dogs with the intent to allow their owners to fully enjoy them.

Puppy Kindergarten Package

Puppy Kindergarten is open to healthy puppies between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks. We do require health verifications (proof of vaccination) for all puppies. This provides peace of mind to all class participants, knowing all the puppies participating are current on vaccines. We cover all of the most important issues to puppy owners, including:

Housebreaking
Mouthing
Play biting
Jumping
Chewing
Getting ready for vet and groomer visits
Leash walking
Puppy obedience

We also have puppy socialization and play time at every class. All family members are welcome.

Basic Obedience Package

Introduction to simple commands, such as sit, stay, wait, drop it, and come
Fundamentals of problem-solving
Thinking like a dog (pack dynamics)
Emphasis will be on off-leash control

Advance Obedience (Emphasis on Off-Leash Control)

Classes being scheduled
10 months and up

Heel command walking on your side with no leash
Sit command: sitting with no leash for a short period of time
Sit-stay command to remain in the sit position with no leash and not moving until released by the handler
Down command: teaching your dog to go down off-leash for a short period of time
Down-stay: teaching your dog to stay down off the leash until released by the handler
Come command: teaching your dog to come a short or long distance with no leash
Place command: teaching your dog to go to a mat, rug, or designated area off-leash

(Must have completed Basic Obedience)
